Richard has been the Head Professional on the island since 1998. An English National with an international background, he has been playing tennis for 22 years, while involved in teaching for the last 11. On the sidelines assisting Richard is Trevor Sam, a Vincentian National and a Davis Cup player for St Vincent ranked in the Top Three in the country. Trevor has been assisting Richard for the last two years on Mustique.
Four flood lit tennis courts at the Tennis Club, two Omni and two Laycold. The courts are available for use by guests from sunrise until 8:30 pm daily.
Courts may be reserved by phoning the operator ext # 8000 and giving the name of your villa. Only one court may be reserved at a time. The tennis courts are complimentary for villa owners and guests of the villas and the hotel.
It is very important to call if there is a cancellation so that the court may be offered to other parties.
In the last two years, a tennis shop has been built above the tennis courts.
A full range of products is offered for every tennis player’s need, from grips to balls, shoes, tennis attire and racquets. Racquet rentals are also available. $10 per day fee.
Private lessons are available by advance appointment. Lessons must be booked directly with Richard.
Lesson fees: Christmas, Easter & summer fees - $90 an hour (Richard) $70 (Trevor). During other times $80 (Richard) $70 (Trevor). Group lessons can also be arranged for a minimum of four persons.
Christmas, Easter & summer camps are held every Monday, Wednesday and Friday 8- 9:30 am. For ages 6-13, fees are $15 a child
For 4 - 5 yr olds can also be arranged, $15 a child.
Offered three times a week (Monday, Wednesday, Friday) afternoons at 4:00 pm for one hour. TennisErcise is a mixture of exercise movements and tennis combined to give the maximum physical benefit. $15 per one hour session.
During summer months (July & August) Sunday afternoons from 5-7 pm, Mixed Doubles social Round Robin is held, an opportunity to meet other island guests.
During summer months (July & August) every Friday morning a Junior Tournament is held for the children.
Mustique’s Tennis Club would be happy to arrange a game of singles or doubles with other island guests.
